Scanning

1. How to scan

The first step is to start with a pretty good photograph, reasonably focused and exposed.

2. Discuss what the Descreen selection does and why it is important (include the images scanned in exercise 1).

Descreen removes the rippled effect of the scanning.

3. Explain what resolutions are best for web, print and presentations for fashion (include the 3 different resolution images scanned)

Web, print and media require a high dpi such as 300 or 360. This is therefore higher pixelated and much clearer.

  DPI 75

  DPI 150

  DPI300

4. Include your scan from your illustration class and fabric scan with specifications (what resolution it was scanned at, colour mode, etc)
